Located at Viru valjak 4 in the heart of Tallinn, Literaat Cafe stands as a unique oasis for both book lovers and coffee enthusiasts alike. This charming cafe is nestled within a well-stocked bookstore, offering an ambiance that is both cozy and inviting—perfect for a leisurely afternoon or a peaceful escape from city life.

The experience at Literaat Cafe transcends the typical cafe outing. As you step inside, you're greeted by the warm, dim lighting that invites you to settle in with a good book or good company. The decor is thoughtfully curated, echoing the literary treasures that surround you, making it an aesthetic treat for the senses.

The menu, though not sprawling, features a delightful range of beverages and light bites that consistently receive rave reviews from patrons. Enjoy a perfectly brewed coffee or indulge in one of their skillfully crafted teas, like the robust offering praised by customer Andre Van Doren, who highlights the substantial brew served in a charming heavy ceramic teapot—enough to refill your cup multiple times, all for just 4.90 euros. Picture yourself savoring this exquisite tea experience while surrounded by shelves of beautifully bound books.

The food offerings are equally tempting. As mentioned by M Mesgarpour, the selections include everything from fresh pastries to delightful meals that never fail to impress. Customers rave about the 'dish of the day' options, which promise satisfying portions at reasonable prices. For those with a sweet tooth, Daria professes her love for the Manhattan dessert—an indulgence that shouldn’t be missed!

But perhaps what makes Literaat Cafe truly special is the friendly service that patrons consistently commend. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every visit is memorable, enriching the overall experience with their warmth and attentiveness. Customer Nada Sabbagh perfectly captures the essence of Literaat by describing not just the ambience and offerings but also the sense of community it instills in all those who enter.

In addition to satisfying your culinary cravings, Literaat Cafe serves as a hub for relaxation and creativity. Grab a book, find a cozy nook, and immerse yourself in the pages while enjoying a delicious coffee or tea. Whether you’re a local or a traveler exploring Tallinn, this cafe is truly a must-visit destination. Don't miss out on this hidden gem—the perfect spot to unwind, read, and indulge.

Whenever I visit Tallinn, I come to this beautiful bookshop for both the atmosphere and the incredible range of books and products. There is an expensive enough English section. The bookshop is clean, big, well laid out and the staff are lovely. Even something has to be said about the dim (but not too dim) lighting. It is a fantastic place and a must for book lovers and those who like a good dose of relaxing ambience.

For the past years, this is the first place where I was able to drink well brewed tasty robust tea! A heavy ceramic tea pot with hot water, ceramic cup, and giant tea bag do the job. For only 4.90 euros you have five full cups of gorgeous tea in a steaming tea pot. The orther cafe items are of course overpriced. But based on my "tea exoerincee," I strongly recommed this place, and I will definitely come back

A charming and cozy café nestled inside a fantastic bookstore. The food, pastries, and drinks are consistently excellent. We make it a point to stop by whenever we visit the bookstore.

This is not our first time visiting the cafe. We are always served politely and friendly. The food is always fresh and tasty. The choice of "dish of the day" is good, the portions are good, as is the price. The atmosphere is quite pleasant. Delicious coffee and cocoa. And my favorite dessert is Manhatan.

Literaat Café is a stylish and cozy spot located inside Viru Keskus Mall, right next to Rahva Raamat bookstore. It offers a great atmosphere where you can enjoy your coffee surrounded by the scent of books. I had a latte and highly recommend their salted caramel dessert! This café is a branch of the popular Literaat in Telliskivi and provides fast, high-quality service. Right next to it, Rahva Raamat is one of Estonia’s largest bookstore chains and was even named the “Best Bookstore in the World” in 2022. Enjoying a coffee in this book-filled environment is truly delightful. A perfect stop for book lovers and coffee enthusiasts!

At lunchtime on September 4, 2025, this place deserves much better than it's 3.9-stars. The service was friendly and helpful for two older Americans traveling in Estonia for the first time. The atmosphere is global-bookstore cafe done very well. The food was only good enough, but better than most mall cafes. My quiche was served lukewarm, but delicious. The salmon in the salmon salad was not sushi grade.

Had a nice visit on the weekend day. Calm, enough room, not growded, good service and clean room. A few vegan and vegetarian options for the meal and latte with plant based milk. I like the fact that the book store is next by. Suitable for taking time off, reading and eating something tasty.
